Academy of Scuba is always working on ideas that will make every divers life easier. The Academy of Scuba online buddy finder is one way that all our divers can keep in touch and organise their dives as well as connect to thousands of Victorian Divers. In 3 easy steps you can be out there any time of the week and find people to dive with.

Setting yourself up

Use of the online buddy finder is free for club members or $40 for non club members for 1 years access.

On the left hand side click Join/ Subscribe

Type in your name and email address and press Subscribe.

Once you do this it should take Academy of Scuba staff one day to make you active. If it has been 48 hours and you are still not activated please call one of the shops.

Organising a dive

  • Click on Dive sites in the top menu of the website.
  • Scroll down and find the dive site you want to do and click on it. If it is not there email or call any of the stores and we can put it in for you.
  • When on the dives sites page click on Request Dive Buddies which is located on the right hand side of the page.
  • Choose the date you want to dive.
  • Choose whether it is in the am or pm.
  • Type in any relevant details of the dive like meeting place and time.
  • Click Post. This will email all available on that day and are interested in that type of dive and they can respond accordingly.
  • Click on My Account to view all you requests.
  • You can also see all the Buddy requests by hovering over Calendars and clicking on Buddy Dives.
  • Then all you have to do is Enjoy your dive and meeting new buddies.
It is as easy as that. One thing is not replying to dives that you cannot make. There are over 1600 people that may get an invite to the dive you are organising. The person submitting the dive request doesn't know who receives the invite and does not want 1000 can't make it emails. Get behind this system to make your dives, and the dives of our future newly certified members, planning easier.
