I first dived in the 1970s in Tahiti and was amazed by this whole new world of endless coral reefs, colourful fish and mysterious wrecks. I subsequently spent every holiday over the next 10 years exploring different and in those days remote diving destinations.
A move to the far north east of America resulted in a long break from diving, but my passion has returned with a vengeance over the last couple of years. The diving in and around Melbourne is as incredible as any of my past tropical destinations. I really enjoy teaching new divers, seeing their rapid progress and sharing their wonder as they discover this new underwater world.
Academy of Scuba is a great place to teach because it is full of people who are passionate about diving and teaching others to dive safely and properly. I feel really fortunate to be part of the team there both as an instructor and also as the “in house” dive doctor.
