Academy of Scuba- Glen Iris Our Glen Iris store was the one that started the Academy of Scuba oddessy. Over the years we have become Melbournes premier dive centre for all divers and people who want to start diving. In 2008 we came in the top 3 out of all dive centres in PADI's Asia Pacific Region in their Outstanding Dive Centre Award. In 2009 and more recently in March 2010 we won this award for our region showing that we really are one of the best centres in Australia.
Owned by Kat and Trav we are a family run business and it is not unusual to be asked to play catch, or a finding game on the computer, or watch a movie with our 3 kids Oli, Charli and Isabel.
Our weekly club nights are on Thursday nights. These are a social night where our divers can get together and plan their dives for the weekend, meet other dive buddies and generally talk everything diving and non diving over some drinks and a BBQ. Come along any Thursday starting from around 7pm and get involved. Once you came you won't leave. On the first Thursday of every month we also conduct our monthly graduation nights where we acknowledge our recent graduated students and give them a chance to receive their certificates. Come along any time to join our little (well maybe not so little) dive family.
Located only 10 minutes from
Melbourne's CBD, we are the closest PADI Dive centre to
the heart of Melbourne. Located near the corner of Burke and Malvern
Road, this store is the
most convenient location for people living or working near the city and
is easily accessible either by tram, train or via the Monash Freeway.
- By Tram- We have a tram stop right out the front of our shop. All you have to do is get off at stop 51, turn around and you are directly in front of the shop. Here is the tram timetable.
- By Train- We are also lucky enough to have a train station in our backyard. If you get on any Glen Waverley line trains and get off at Gardner station all you have to do is walk 20m up the hill and you are at our shop. Here is the train timetable.
- By Car- We are located at 267 Burke Rd, Glen Iris. This is only 100m from the Burke Rd exit of the Monash Freeway. We are inbetween Malvern and the Monash Freeway. You can't miss us.
