Growing up by the ocean in South Africa I have always had a passion for water sports and marine life and having done everything from surfing fishing and heaps of snorkelling, I finally got around to doing my Open Water course in Egypt just over a year ago.  As soon as I got home to South Africa I emailed every dive centre I could find to make the ocean my office, and managed to get a Dive Master Internship at Blue Vision Dive Resort. 6 Months later I was on my way to doing my IDC and beginning of March was instructing my 1st course.

I'd have to say my favourite dive site is Aliwal Shoal, Durban...Not only because it's where I know best but because of its huge diversity of marine life due to the cold and warm currents meeting there.  I haven't had many dives in Melbourne to compare so will get back to a local dive site later on, as for overseas location I'd have to go for Egypt...I could move there tomorrow and can't wait to go back one day and do more than just my Open Water there.

Diving for me is all about the pleasure, it keeps me happy and active, yet relaxes me...if I could I'd sleep under the ocean!  I love all sorts of marine life and the biodiversity found under the sea, with my most exciting dives being with Tiger Sharks.  I love instructing and am still hooked on seeing the faces of Open Water students after they come up from their first sea dive, so that still has to be my favourite course for me, also the fact that none of them know any better so I'm never wrong helps lol.

I started at AOS because I only ever work for the best haha; they definitely seem to be the busiest dive centre in my area and so far have been able to keep me busy.  The vibe with staff, members and even visitors to the club is always good and the socials every Thursday night are a definite plus and a great way to meet new people with similar interests.
