Scott Edwards - Divemaster
I have been Diving for 10 years. I love the water and have never lived far from the beach.
My mate, Andy Higgins, bought me a Discover Scuba for my birthday but I procrastinated for 4 years before finally doing my Open Water course at Academy of Scuba. From there I have never looked back as it has become my passion and desire to discover the underwater world and all it has to offer.
The diving I do can be categorized into 4 different areas: Technical and deep diving with mixed gasses on the abundance of shipwrecks which exist along our coastline; Cave diving every 6 to 8 weeks in Mt Gambier; kicking about under the piers most weekends communicating with wide variety of marine life and most recently assisting on courses as a Divemaster . It is truly satisfying and exciting being part of people’s first underwater experience and sharing it with them.
I have dived on the President Coolidge ocean liner in Vanuatu, Truk Lagoon the Shipwreck Mecca in Micronesia, 500km north of the Arctic Circle in Norway and Caved Dived in the Nullarbor as well as up down the East coast of Australia.
Some of my favourite times have been spent before and after the dives – sitting around a fire chatting about the octopus which became quite amorous with my dive buddy on the previous dive or planning the next great dive adventure. Club Night on Thursday has been a favourite destination for me each week with a chance to relax, meet new friends, talk about diving and plan dives for the weekend.
See you underwater soon
