Academy of Scuba- Scuba Gear Hire Prices

All gear hired is subject to Academy of Scuba gear hire policy written below.  Please take the time to read this.

Daily Rate refers to any day. Half a day hire will be charged for all subsequent days if gear is not returned at the close of business on day it is due back.  We will not be staying back after hours for you to return your gear.  Our weekend rate refers to gear picked up on Friday afternoon and dropped in on Monday or Picked up on Thursday and dropped in on Sunday.  No gear is to be picked up after 3pm at Rye unless dropped in the following day.  In summer, and on weekends, it is advised to book your gear a couple of days prior to picking it up to ensure we have enough equipment for you to hire.

• A $10 transfer fee is applicable to gear that is not returned to original shop of hiring.
• All gear must be washed prior to returning.
• Make sure the dust cap is on the regulator.
• If possible, use Wetsuit Wash to clean dive gear.
• Please hang wetsuits inside out to dry, and return them right-way-out.
• BCD - empty all salt water out of the BCD. Fill with fresh water through the low pressure inflator and shake around. Empty all water.
• Weights must ALWAYS be kept out of tubs. No exceptions.
• Tanks must always have some air left in them to keep water out. If a tank is returned with less than 30 bar, the customer will be charged a $40 visual inspection fee.
• If gear is returned unwashed there will be a $20 cleaning fee.
