If your gear needs servicing we can help.  Academy of Scuba equipment servicing and repairs are carried out by fully qualified in-house service technician to manufacturer specifications using only genuine service kits/parts.  All servicing is done at our Camberwell store.

Service of cylinders is not done in-house.  There is usually a service run for these on Mondays leaving from Camberwell.  

We recommend that all weights and accessories are removed from Scuba equipment before submitting it for servicing. We cannot take responsibility for any items left attached to, or in scuba equipment, which are not being serviced.

We prefer that equipment that has been serviced is picked up within 14 days of service completion to avoid a surcharge for storage. After your equipment gets serviced it is always best to do a test dive.  We recommend all serviced Scuba equipment should be taken for a shallow dive, prior to being taken on deeper dives, as all work is carried out on a test bench and not under the pressure off diving conditions.

Academy of Scuba can service equipment manufactured by the following brands: Oceanic, Hollis, Aeris, Scubapro, Subgear, Tusa, Apollo, Cressi, Apeks, US Divers, Suunto, Aqualung, Aquanaut, Dive Rite, Halcyon, Poseidon.  All other brands can still be submitted for servicing, however the work would be completed off-site by a 3rd party servicing company.

Service times

Academy of Scuba's servicing runs on an average turnaround time of 10 – 14 days providing service kits/parts are in stock (although work on equipment is often completed earlier), Where parts need to be ordered, this timescale may be extended.

If you want your equipment serviced urgently, an extra charge of $100 will be applied as it will need to be scheduled in front of equipment already booked in.

The average turn around on a cylinder service is 7 days, Monday-Monday, however because this servicing is carried out off-site, these times can be subject to change

Parts for Life

If your equipment is covered by parts-for-life warranty programs please make sure that it is serviced within the annual timeframe. If, at time of servicing, the equipment is flagged as “no warranty” when checked against manufacturer’s online records, parts will be charged for.
